thanks Brenden, those are nice units, installed a number of them. The new software is much easier to use than the older stuff was.

And the Map carts can hold a lot more details.

I'm fond of the color X15, the fine details, accuracy and ease of use.

I've been using a hand-held GPS for a few years now. Trying to see if I can scrape the nickles for a stand alone on my next boat. Doubt I can swing a color '15, but there are a number of units in the price range given that are excellent.

Thanks to everybody for their input. I decided on the Lowrance LMS-330C. With tat I also bought the Navionic Hot Maps for the Central region. Now I just have to sit down and see if I can figure out how to use it. Thanks again everybody. Happy Holidays to all

Nice choice... The Hot Map comes with pretty simple instructions. You just put in the chip and select the map from your map menu.

Most of the other settings are standard controls as you would see on any fish-finder/GPS. Lowrance makes marking weigh points easy, you just hit "enter" twice and it places a weigh point on your map.
