How to get sponserships

There’s nothing I can improve on what has been said by the others.
I can add this, as an employee of a company that receives about a 100 applications per year from guides and fishermen I see a lot of resume’s that don’t survive the first two paragraphs before they hit the round file. There's no such thing as a second first impression.
In my position I get to participate in the process somewhat, so I can speak with some authority. Also, once, long ago, when tournament fishing was a ‘niche sport’, I managed to snag a couple of decent sponsors myself.
Each point made above is valid, and vital if you want a company to deal with you.
As has been said, you’re past “fishing”, you have entered the realm of business. You'll spend a lot of long days and nights at boat and tackle shows. And smile at everyone, shake their hand and show them product. Even if you can't stand them. (I do it three times a year, trust me, it ain't easy sometimes.)
If you forget that very important detail, you’ll not last more than a year.
If that.
Good Luck.
Richard.
