Many fisherman rig spider grubs on jig heads, which how I started. Over time I used another technique. Use a 4/0 wide gap worm hook and a 4 inch twin tail grub. Rig the hook through the plastic just as you would a worm. Bury the hook point centered between the spider grubs twin tails. Use no weigh, it will have a soft entry and a very slow fall. Centering; will make the bait swim properly as well. I also use this set-up for dock skipping. When you get bit they grab and run, I look for line movement and then set the hook. Give it a try! FYI salt impregnated lures are best IE yamamoto's or Kinami's.

Butch, I have rigged spider grubs on slider heads before (1/16oz) and had some great results as well. I have always been a big fan of weightless soft plastics. I'll have to give the "weightless spider grub" a try next time.

Thanks for the tip...
