Sean- Sit tight! Are you scheduled to head there soon? (My reason is the last angler to ask about a lake was on the road about 2 days later. The detailed fishing reports were available, but he wasn't. One of the reports was from Rick Clunn's Website!)
We will ask all of our NY guys to give us a read on Black Lake. I've driven by it during both my NY State Fed Club Team Tournaments on the St. Lawrence, but never got to wet a line there.
Hang in there. Meanwhile, Pro Staff: Can you help this Angler with Black Lake? Thanks in advance. JoeMo

Sean- Go to the "Ask the Pro Staff" Board. Danbass has answered you in part. I suggest you post on that board and ask Dan specific questions.
Keep asking- we'll get you the answers.
JoeMo
PS- Don't forget to give him a timeframe so we all know how much time the Pro Staff has to get you the info

You Picked a good lake to fish. The Bass usually like a well placed texas rig, or a Spinner/Buzzbait in the Weeds & Lily pads. Experiment with different colors like anywhere else. They can be fickle at times, but this lake is a big producer. The lake is fed by the Oswegatchie river which sires in the Adirondack Mountains, so the water is a clear brown, due to the tree leaves and needles breaking down. A Chartreuse or White Spinner bait or buzz bait has usually done justice. I have a Bass Pro friend that spends most of his time fishing there.
