Catching at Stick Marsh and Farm 13 is excellent. When Stick Marsh & Farm 13 opened the growth rate for largemouth bass was the largest ever recorded- 2 1/2 pounds per year. When you go out there now and start fishing the little guys from this years spawn are biting like crazy. They are feeding so ferouciously (I wish I could spell!) that the larger ones can not get to the lures. Any how, the way those new spawn are feeding you can tell how the growth rate was so high in the beginning. Oh, most of the spawn are at the borderline of keepers now. Some are keepers. Well, no keeper bass at Stick Marsh and Farm 13 but you know what I mean.

As a result of the frantic feeding of the smaller bass the larger bass have keyed on larger forage. The smaller bass are feeding on this years shad hatch and the larger bass are keying on wild shiners. So, the sizes of bass are in different locations. This is a totally new pattern for Stick Marsh and Farm 13.

Yesterday, Tuesday, I went out and just checked a few things. The larger bass are hitting BabyBass Boats (TM) (buzzbaits), Texas rigged worms, and probably spinnerbaits, and maybe crankbaits. The smaller bass are hitting almost anything you want to throw at them. They will hit BabyBassBoats(TM) in a smaller size, small crankbaits, Texas rigged worms and small spinerbaits.

BabyBassBoats(TM) are available on ebay at a reasonable starting bid. Just browse with the search word of "Lures".

The spillway has been running for about two weeks. Just yesterday they opened the gate some more. Grass was flowing through. The next day (today) the grass stops flowing through and the bass move in and tomorrow (if they flow continues) the catching should start to be those 100 bass days.

This is hurricane season. Hurricanes really improve bass fishing. Not that I indicate you should go out and fish in a hurricane. If a hurricane is predicted to hit Florida the water districs begin to move water out of holding areas. Current starts and fish increase biting. Then it rains and the fresh water stimulates the bass. Then more water comes in and they get stimulated more. For two weeks after every hurricane the catching is beyond belief. So, I will not tell you how good it is.
