after today what it was isn't what it is. A real nice cold front with rain and wind blew in today. Wow! Did it ever blow in. Most anglers stayed at home. Those that went found the conditions tough. Lord bless the young lady that went with her boy firend today. She sat quietly in the boat while we worked up a few small bass. Better than none.
Rattle traps, buzzbaits, and soft plastics fished wacky style produced bites. Shiner fishing should be improving greatly. However, the guide who went today with live bait did not produce so well. And the other boat we saw did not do so well either. Not that we did weel, but, I would expect live bait to produce. The spinnerbait came into being today. With the next few days supposed to be colder and windier I expect the bait bite to be better; the spinnerbait bite to improve and the bass begin to move shallow.
Thanksgiving week and week-end- barring much more of the same should be awesome as the first group of big females begins the feed prior to the first spawn. The best time to come to Stick Marsh and Farm 13 is after Thanksgiving and Before Christmas. First- the first group of big females begins their feeding. Second- alot of folks forgot fishing and start thing of Santa. And thirdly- folks are hunting. Meaning those that go bassin have the lakes with lots less boats.
Lots of big bass are caught in January, February and March. It's awesome then. The colder it is up North the more my phone rings.
