Bassin' nj... are you looking for places that you can launch a boat or will you be fishing from shore?

I am in the process of getting a boat. Probably take it out of dredge harbor in delran. If you know spots from shore or a boat would be much appreciated thanks.

Bassin' NJ...
I personally like fishing Greenwood Lake, but that is in North Jersey. Here are two good resources for you.
1) Here is a link to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife's website listing of Lakes, ponds and reservoirs that offer open fishing for the public.
http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/fishplc.htm
2) Send an email to Bill Lindoerfer (Bassin' USA ProStaff for NJ) and ask him if he could point you in the right direction.

This should get you pointed in the right direction.
Oh, by the way... Welcome to the east coast!

BASSIN NJ,Welcome to the garden state. We have over 50 lakes ponds, and rivers in south jersey. We only have 3 that you can run a big motor in,so keep that in mind when buying a boat. What part of south jersey are you from. That would be the place to start. Joe D.

John, you are in the middle of everything. The best place to start is the new jersey web site posted here.We do have cooper river park,& newton creek that are good for shore line fishing. But everthing else would be easier by boat.Right now the delaware river is high & muddy so any of the creeks would be a good place to start. We do have a all release season begining on 4/15 until 6/15 all tournaments in NJ are paper during that time.Even the NJ side of the delaware river, but not the dredge harbor area.If you want drop me a email and we can talk over the phone,& get together.

One thing you can do is to purchase a NJ lakes book. This is available at several stores such as Dicks. You can also order this from the NJ fish and Game website. This book will give you all the information you need about what lakes are in the area and also how to get there. Ramp information and all restrictions about each lake is in there.Don't overlook the great striper fishing that is available in the Delaware River, especially in the spring. If I can be of further help please email me.
