Over the years I have had great luck with Zoom lures, the baits were of great quality and very productive. My best baits were: Flukes, trick worms, and brush hogs. Recently; I bought a few packs of meat heads, and flukes that I was not happy with. Basically the baits had a lot of flash IE; (extra loose plastic material) that I had to remove. Are others seeing this? I love their baits but I'm begining to question their quality control.
Did I just have bad luck?

Thanks
Bassin Butch

The majority of plastics that I buy are Zoom. I buy Lizards, Tubes, Brush hogs, and I have never had a problem with extra pieces to remove. The only time I have had that problem was when I bought a pack of Strike King Cbyer Flexxx Lizards, there were 5 in a pack( They are new by the way) and they were all stuck together at the tails. I got them apart, but they shouldn't have been that way. Well, all I can say is with the Zoom, it must have been bad luck.

BB - I've used Zoom plastics for several years now, mostly trick worms and critter craws. I have to agree with you that for some reason things have changed. I recently bought a bag of trick worms that had half the bag still glued together at one end. The quality of the bait itself appears to be the same, but there seems to be a lack of quality control in recent batches. This alone won't affect my decision to buy Zoom in the future, but I hope this isn't the beginning to larger problems in the future.

Let them know, Zoom is a good company, but all companies have problems from time to time. Never know, they might just send you a few free samples .

zooms a great company--i ve used there rubber lizards for years--they are made strong and last for quite a few fish--unless you land a monster then your baits shredded! haha! but i have been using zooms flukes brush hogs lizards worms for a long time and have never have excess plastic--you might have just got a few bad packs--next time i would open it and check it before buying.GOOD LUCK

I use to use Zoom until I found Kelly Lures. I always had a problem with Zoom not running strait and flipping over all the time. In my opinion they are one of the worst baits out there. They are really cheap to buy and I believe you get what you pay for. And when the fishing is tough you want the most reliable plastics out there. The lizards Kelly produces are like no other. They are painted so it gives them a more realistic look. The Zoom flukes always give you line twist no matter how you rig them. I have caught more fish on the Shaddow Shad by Kelly lures than the fluke. It is a smaller profile bait that comes over and through the slop and lilly's allot better. When the watermelon red glitter Shadow shad falls it rocks side to side something like a senko. The fish just cant resist the actionl. Just my thoughts. Everybody has a preference and whatever company you have confidence in is what you should use. Mine is Kelly lures by far.

Fellas- I don't believe anyone has mentioned anything about contacting Zoom. We realize some of you may have purchased a bad batch of baits. That's possible from any manufacturer. However, if you don't contact them, they will never know it until someone reads it on this board. Then they might feel that it isn't the way to make a claim.

Let us know how you make out when you get in touch with Zoom. Much obliged. Joe

Kelly Lures huh, they don't sponsor you by any chance???

Bad mouthing Zoom says more about you than them.

I agree that Zoom is among the industry leaders and they are such for a reason, their baits catch lots of fish. Just like Berkley, Culprit, YUM, Yamamoto, Kinai, Chompers ETC.

I am a Super Fluke aficianado and have not found another company that makes one quite as good as Zoom and I have used many of the other brands.
