Josh,
I have tried this technique a few times with no success. Some say that it is best to use on days that bass are lathargic and are not wanting much to eat. They bait staying in front of them usually means a strike will happen. I have never had any success but I would love to know more about it. I am sure there is going to be someone on here that can help with this. Good Luck on the Water!!!

(insert cuss-word here)

I've caught fish on drop shotting quite frequently (when I do it)

It's a pain in the ass, but it works well if you do it right.

First off, you need to rig it up like this:

You need a half-ounce weight on the bottom. Now I just put on 4 size 4 splitshots for myself.

But before that you tie on the hook. After you tie the hook here's the secret: Loop the extra line through the hook so when you pull it all the hook pops out...

After you cast, let it sink. The idea is to have it stay in one place while the worm is pulled up, and then sinks...

You pull the worm until you feel the weight, and kill it. Let it sink.

You'll know you have a fish because next time you pull it will pull back hehe

hope that helps,
