After a recent fishing trip i finally am convinced that red hooks can make a difference in the amount of times yur line goes tight. This little addition give the bait just the right amount of flash to grab that ol' bucketmouths attention. I really recomend using these in clear or slightly stained conditions.

I totally agree. The little amount of red really triggers the attention of a bass. They trigger on the red because it shows that the prey may be injured and they just suck that down. Red not only triggers bass but also big catfish. (Right bass_assassin23?

I just bought some Eagle Claw wide gap red worm hooks. I got a couple of hits on carolina rig with them. The wind was blowing hard and I left.

Can't wait to get back on the water with them.

Stick with the red hooks goodtexan. They really are a productive addition to your arsenal. They will help get bites when other baits wont.

The red hooks have even increased the amount of pan fish i catch as well.

I agree red hooks give that little extra that you need sometimes. I almost primaraly use red hooks when worm fishing...

Glad everybody is liking the "red hooks" or as they are called in the TTI Companies - Bleeding Bait and Blood Red.

These are available in the Daiichi brand under Bleeding Bait, and Tru Turn as Blood Red.

I use the Copperhead design in the plain and Butt Dragger series, for jerk worms. This gives the minnow type bait a gill flash, or image of having some blood on a crippled bait fish. The Butt Dragger also works well for other worms, especially craw worms. I like using the 3/0 for the Larew Finesse Craw.

The Fat Gap in the Bleeding Bait, I use for tube fishing.

There is also the Circle Wide, which works well for drop shotting or wacky rigging.

In the Tru Turn they have a trailer hook for spinnerbaits in the Blood Red, which does the same thing for providing the look of blood from an injury.

Stick with the red hooks. They have really added to the hook ups. I have been getting twice to three time the strikes on them and have replaced all my worm hooks with them.

Red hooks only make sense. If for no other reason, the fish aren't as likely to be spooked from seeing a hook sticking out of a plastic worm. I rig a lot of plastics with exposed hooks fished next to, but not in the weeds. I let the worms slink slowly with only a split-shot, on a tight line and fished slow. The fish have plenty of time to eye-up the worms, and red only helps the situation.

Hey guys, don't forget to add a red treble hook to the belly of your crankbaits. Been using Daiichi Bleeding Red on my cranks, the fish always take the front hook, makes hooking the fish much easier. Good luck, Johnnie
