Hello everyone, here is a good tip that has come in handy for me during one tournament so far. If you ever break your rod tip try using a replacement tip and some JB WELD on it. It dries rather quickly and is as strong as steel. Plus it wont completely ruin your day!! GOOD FISHING!!

comes straight out of 2 tubes...mix together, apply and dry and your set!

Thats a good tip but, crazy glue dries faster and requires no mixing.

Both JB Weld and Krazy glue work well, but JB Weld has quite a few more emergency uses in a boat than just the rod tips. It is a great extra to have.

Well I have used krazy glue as well a long time ago, the main reason I dont use it now is because I had a bad experience with it once....you know the fingers, haha.. and kind of stayed away from it ever since, but works just as well. However, I have found that with graphite composite and fiberglass rods the JB Weld works a little better.

Question?????? If this is a temporary stop gap fix it measure, why would you use a permant bonding agent? Just carry a small glue stick to affix the tip top. The top can be removed simply by heating the glue and pulling it off. You'd have to break the tip off if you crazy glued or JB welded it.

Great tips guys. I have broken off so many tip guides that my six footer is now a five. I too use crazy glue for the quickest fix. I used to use epoxy, but it takes a while to mix and I simply am not that patient. I know a lot of guys throw away their broken off tip guides, but by holding the guide with needle nose and heating with a lighter, the broken off rod can be removed from the tip guide and reused. I would have to disagree with Craig on the superglue being permant, I have used a lighter to loosen up the guide on the tip of my fishing rod so I could replace it when I got home.
