When you fish in the rain do you change your presentation or do you fish the same way?

Dennis,
When fishing in the rain, I start by fishing my normals techniques, but generally in shallower water. Most times bass will move into shallow water under darker conditions such as rain. I really like to fish in a good rain, not a downpour of course, or lightning, but just a good ole shorts soaking rain. I've found that I can fish faster in rainy conditions, I think the fish get more bold and move around more. I try spinnerbaits bulged across the surface first. Here's a little secret, I use a large copper bladed tandem spin with a black or brown skirt. If this doesn't work, I love to throw a broken back-crippled minnow bait and just twitch it along the surface, again, black or dark color. If the lake I'm fishing has a dam with a cement spillway leading into the water, I will use a large red plastic worm fished where I feel the cement structure ends.
JT probably already knows this, but, when fishing the Mississippi river in rain, I fish only- off the bank-isolated wood cover, fish in the river react differently than lake fish. The river fish may even suspend over the tops of stumps, they either bury themselves in cover so deep we can't get to them, or they go to the more open water cover. Good question. JT I don't know you're answer??

Dennis, fishing in a good rain is great, especially in the middle of summer. I generally throw a red shad, or grape pattern worm into shallow water. If that is not producing, a broken back minnow (black back, orange stomach) seems to work out for me.

Johnnie,

I had answered his question somewhere else but, I can say that it was "very" similar to your answer.

Dennis,

I will usually continue to fish the same way until the fish tell me differently. Then I will usually throw a buzz bait, rattle trap, or an RT SLUG (white of course). Because of the overcast skys, the bass will be a bit more active till the front passes.
