The Money Minnow is alright...I havent used the Yum version yet.
What's the dominant forage and whats the avg bass size?
Are you going for numbers or want that Kicker?

Jason,
Me and one of my tournament partners tried using the money minnow in a lake with Alewife this summer and did not do very well with it. I'm sure it has its place, but at the moment I personally have not found it. By the way, we were drop shotting with it.
As for the swimbaits, I'll leave that for the California Boys to answer.

Here is a saying from one of the best big bait fisherman:
"Everything works as long as you understand what each bait brings to the party and you pick the right one for the dance."
It says it all.

Ouch... that hurts. We just iced up over the last week or so... it's raining today and I can see the ice fading on the pond out my office window.

are those baits going 2 be a little 2 large 4 this time of year, the smaller one i found is the bbz-1 shad is 4 inches and kinda bulky and the sepille magic swimmer is 5 inches, what do u think about winter time fishing with these bait,i always thought the colder it was the smaller the forege?

Don't know your area...so can't really say.
But you will be amazed what a bass will eat if it's put in front of it's nose no matter what time of year.
Remember a swimbait is not the magic catch all lure.
As with choosing which lure to use, it depends on structure, water column, forage, speed angles and then determining which lure will best achieve the action you want.
