Biosonix unit thoughts?
Hey guys it been a while since I posted hope you all are well.
Anyway: I am real close to pulling the trigger on a new Biosonix unit.
Just trying to get a edge on the high pressured lakes during tourneys.
Worth the money or not?

Biosonix unit thoughts?
Hi Butch,
It has been a while. Good to hear from you again. I have not used the biosonix unit, so I cannot give you a personal opinion from first hand experience. There is a decent post about this unit at: Biosonix Discussion
From what I've been reading, it sounds like there is a lot of differences in opinion. There are claims that KVD used the unit to "win" three tournaments, however when you watch those three tournaments, the unit is never seen. Other E50 anglers also are sponsored by this company, however they have not one a tournament in the past several years, so how much of an advantage could it really be giving you? At around $600 for the unit, that's a substancial chance you'd be taking. I'll compare it to electronics... I did not purchase the new Humminbird 997 with side imaging until I was able to get out on the water with someone who had it already so that I could see what it could do first hand. A lot of the guys here at Bassin' USA certainly helped make me feel comfortable about my decision, but in the end I needed to get in the boat with someone to see it work with my own eyes. The trouble with that is how many people do you know that own one of those units? I do not know anyone that has one, so for me trying one out would be limited to making a purchase.
Well, I guess I'm just ramblimg on here... the best I can offer you Butch is that link above and hopefully some of our members respond with some first hand knowledge/experience with the Biosonix unit.
Great to hear from you... how's life been treating you?

Brendan all has been well! With to current state of our economy I and my wife are still employed, I hope all of our members are in the same state. I had an off year in tournaments mainly due to my partner. Most times I was catching everything we weighed in. Constantly was missing the money by 2 pounds to a few ounces.
Real bummer: First year out on my new Champion boat and no money. Anyway: hope to hear some news on the biosonix, if not will likely spend the cash on rods and reels. Had the bad experience of kicking 3 over the gunnel and off they went into the obis (YIKES)

In all my years fishing, I've only kicked one rod/reel over the side that I was not able to save before it sank to the bottom. Three in one shot though??? That's a real big hit to take at once... next time try and spread it out a little... you know, kick one over the side and then wait a few weeks before you 86 the next one... lol!

Thanks Brendan and Nunz? From what I found by surfing the net and the link above: I'm not sure I can make a smart choice! Pros may be paid for, and some of the non-pro users could have just caught more by chance. I don't need a Biosonix as I can catch bass without it, 26 years of proof behind that.
I called BSX: they were nice people but I found the following: 1 year warranty with no optional warranty extension plan? SD cards are to be supposably available in the future tagged as a KVD card and others such as IKE. My common sense side tells me to be cautious,my fisherman side tells me an edge is an edge.
Still undecided!!!!!!!!!

Having an edge is nice, but so is having an extra $600 in your pocket!
Best of luck with whatever you decide.

I've used them. They work well but I'm not sold on them.. We use them down here for the White Bass Bite. When these fish school up and are chasing shad they seem to work well, but I feel they are not worth the money in the long run..
So save your 600.00 and go buy some more baits or get some good electonics on your boat..
