Northern IL Fishing Report !

Lake Michigan ( Downtown Chicago ) Smallmouth Fishing Report ! 9/12/10
Water temp: 67-70 degrees
With a nice blue bird sunny day and a 1/2 to 1ft chop on the lake on Sunday the weather was nice but the smallmouth action was not ! A tough bite with a couple fish caught on rock shoals down by Rainbow Park and on the south shores of Calumet Harbor . TABU tackles new Tiny Tim Swimbait in the Glimmer Shad color pattern worked the best . Rigged on a drop shot with a 18'' leader from the drop weight . Watermelon and Blue fleck 4" tubes rigged on 1/4oz Shur-Set Lures jighead was also effective ! Both lures need to be worked slow around the rock shoals and drop offs in order to get bit !
