When do you know fall transition has began?
Hey SC...
Two things to look for:
If you know anything about hunting, the same timeframe you hear that the "rut" has begun.
When the air temps start making those consistent dips below 50 degrees. Surface temps will begin to cool and ultimately the lake will turn over. (Cold water will sink and the warmer water from the bottom will rise to the top) You usually will notice a lot of muck floating on the surface of the lake.
