Hey Guys, heres a new idea. What do you all drive for tow vehicles? Right now I drive a 2000 Chevy Blazer ZR2 ( which couldnt be a worse truck), but I am in the middle of buying a 2003 Chevy Astro Van ( yes its a mini van). My thoughts are it will save me a shoe box full of cash with gas, and hotels(sleep in it) and its all wheel drive. Anyways, theres my 2 cents, how about you?

Dennis, I drive 1997 Chevy Blazer 4X4 and love it. 4 door. Good on gas, good on snow and rain, only proiblem, my boat, motor and trailer probably outweight it. I have a 1992 Jimmy that does a much better job, but isn't as nice to look at or ride in, but is very trustworthy even with 150,000 milkes I've put on it. Good post. Keem em comin'.

Currently I have a 97 Ford Expedition. It isn't the perfect tow vehicle, as it is a real hog on the gas. But it is very nice and big for the family and pulls the boat great. Most of us can't get the truck, boat, house, and vacations that we all would like. So sometimes you compromise here and there to make the best of it.

I pull my boat with a 2002 Silverado Xtended Cab 4x4, along the same lines as Dennis, I put a topper on it to give me more room, etc. It pulls my boat great and has plenty of room for the family. We took a trip to Table Rock in November with the boat, kids, dogs and all and had plenty of room and power. My wife just bought a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, we'll see how good it tows if I can get the keys, LOL!

Dennis,I have a Ford F150 with a 6cyc. I got it new.I have over a 110,000 on it now.Great on gas,I have the back done with matching cap.I sleep in the back.I have not had to put a nickle in this truck until last year.It needed a battery.YOU GOT IT ONLY A BATTERY FROM 1994.AND TWO BELTS. I'm buying a new 150 in the summer only because I like the looks of the 04's and because the wife said it was okay.My truck looks and runs like it did new. FORD ONLY FOR ME. My tow vehicle is a 1998 dodge dakota 2x with a 3.9 liter v6 auto. It pulls my 17 ft bass boat very well. Must admit I would prefer a v8 ford any day. I'm a ford guy at heart, my previous truck was an f150.

2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 Vortec... This is by far the best truck I have ever driven and it tows like there is nothing behind it. Lots of power, more room than you'll ever need and it rides like a luxury car. It get's about the same gas mileage as my Dodge Durango did, so I can't complain about the gas bills.

Hey Bren, I take out my 3rd seat and place a 12v converter with a heater, a good air bed and away we go!!! Saves alot of money

Looks like I'm going to hang onto the Blazer ZR2. I am way upside down in it and would be looking at 500 a month payments, no thanks. With a little work, and a tent, I should be good to go for 2004. Has anyone made any modifications to their trucks to improve performance? I added the Flowmaster System, But I cant tell if I get better gas mileage due to a broken gas guage, oh well. I am absolutly dieing to get out on the water!

Dennis and all,
I notice several of you sleep in your tow vehichles. I know this would save time and money, but what about charging your boat batteries and bathrooms? Do you stay at state parks? Parking lots? How about coffee making, gotta have that. Can't run everything off a cigerrette lighter plug. Just wondering in case I run out of Deluxe Hilton Presidential Suites in the future. Johnnie
