Brett,

For me, if I can cast to open water, I am out fishing for bass. I am not big on ice fishing for bass, but right after "ice-out" can be one of the best times of year to catch bass. (If your state allows it)

Winter forces fish to school together, locating them can be tuff, but when you catch one, there are others around. You can have some real great days in the middle of winter... just remember that these fish are in a non-aggressive feeding mode since their metabolism has slowed down.

Give it a try...

Well I think within the next couple of weeks I will boat into some of the marsh areas and fish for some bass. Thanks for the info.

Dude the best time to go fishing is anytime you can go. They bite the best the day before you get there and the day after you leave. I just go and deal with it when I get there!

Good one Catt. Truth is, if there's open water, bass can be caught. Someone -somewhere always catches bass even under the worst conditions, I know, I've seen it done. Unfamiliar with Oregon tho, don't know if you have ice over or not like we do. As soon as our lakes and river open up we go fishing and start catching bass even in very cold water. Good luck, catch one for me. Johnnie
