****, I cut one off with the trolling motor mount once, I put it back together and it worked, but I went ahead and got a new transducer because I figured it would work great until I needed it, , good luck with it.

****,
I would get a completely new cable and transducer. The impedance on these things is critical, and can be thrown off. Also, water can get into a splice.

I've been with the Techsonic field test/R&D staff for several years, and that is one thing we have stressed.

In the past, when I worked the outdoor shows for Techsonic through rep groups, this is a question asked many times, and most people who spliced them had about the same problems.

Compare this to the antenna on you TV or radio. In reality it is a radar.

Part of my experience is as a FCC licensed electronic technician, which has helped me in my work in the electronic media, but also in working with electronic fishing gear.

Best of fishing,
Dan
