how do I rig a tube

I just bought 4 packs, but I have no idea how to rig them.
I'm searching the net right now, I'm fishing in about an hour...

I now i'am only 17 but i now a little about tubes. You can fish them with a carolina rig. You can fish them texas rig, or just by itself. Ushally fishing it with a texas rig works out the best for me.

Mike, here's a tube tip. Try using an eighth ounce ball head jig. Push the jig up into the tubes cavity all the way to the end. Adding a drop of Fish Formula will make the head slicker and easier to insert plus add scent to the bait. Locate where the line tie to the jighead is with your fingers, by pushing down on each side of the line tie eye it will pop through the tube and you can tie it on. Now, simply push the hook through the tube so it is exposed. Fish this rig slowly along the bottom. Use jigheads with fine-wire hooks, the fish most times will hook themselves.

I think I got the gist of what you said Johnnie, so basically you tie the thing last...sort of opposite of a regular worm.

I'm new to the board, but I think I can help you as well. I use Gambler Florida Weights that screw in the head of the tube. Rig the tube like you would Texas style, and screw in the weight. The ones that I use have rattles in them. That also attracts the fish. I also use a smaller wide gap hook and shove it further down the tube so that the weight screws all the way in. Hope that this technique works for you.

I do things a little different. I take a 4" tube and use an item called a gitzit glider inside the tube. It's an internal weight available at Northern Bass Supply. I use the 3/16 oz. for less than 10 feet of water. I then texas rig the tube with a Gammy 3/0 EWG hook, catching the glider as I insert the hook point, and thats the whole rig. It falls in a large zig zag pattern and since it falls slow it allows fish to come along way to get it. It doesn't work well in heavy cover but for anything less, it's my confidence bait.

E Z Tube is a great product to use to rig a tube. You slide it in the head of the bait, and it has rattles that adds more attraction to it. It has holes in it to put your hook through. It will make your bait fall strait every time. It will also give it a darting action when jigging it.

Eagle Claw's HP Hook system has always been an effective way to add an internal weight to a tube bait while maintaining it's compack profile. Their hook design keeps the point of the hook snug against the outside wall of the tube making it weedless. This is a great system for heavy cover.

Haven't had time to read the other posts, so maybe this is a repeat.

As most everyone knows I am a major tube user.

My favorite way to rig is Texas style. I use an XPoint XGap hook. This provides the sharpness, and a Kale type gap, which is greatly beneficial.

I run the hook into the top, as Texas rigging a worm, then into the hollow area of the tube. Next, the point is run through the outside wall, and then the very tip is stuck back into the outer skin. This will make the tube weedless, and at the same time have a hair trigger for when the bass strikes.

Don't make the mistake of trying to run the hook through both sides of the plastic, as you would with a solid worm. Again, this is the reason for using the XGap design.

I also recommend a thicker walled tube, such as a Larew Fat Gap. Another is a Mega Ring Tube, in which the big rings provide an extra weedguard.
