Hey all,
I am sorta new to the bass fishing arena but am really loving it but I have a few questions. Being that I am Active Duty USAF I have limited time to fish but i was wondering if anyone else is in a similiar situation and has any pointers. Next does anyone know of any tournaments around the Omaha area that are for teams of 2. I have a friend (w/ the boat) stationed near St. Louis and he and I are interested in trying some tournaments. Also, I have heard people talk that there are ways to get free lures to try out when they are new and such . . anyone have any idea or is that just a myth. Lastly any good pointers for me to get a good quality boat for myself with out breaking my pockets. Thanks for all the help!!

Ryan, call Rod at the Offutt equipment rental office, there is an actual intra-mural series the base runs. He might be able to hook you up with someone to fish with. Also, there are several local organizations that have tournaments as well. Call Vicki Modlin at Woods Sporting Goods in Council Bluffs, she runs a team series (of which I fish) that is a real class act. Also, she can point you in the direction of many of the area clubs that have "team opens". If nothing else, you can get ahold of me (I'm in the global) and I might be able to help you out some.

Hey Ryan, just wondering what your job is?
I spent 4 yrs in the U.S.A.F from 1970 to 1974 and I was a crew chief on B52G&H model bombers.

I worked on the KC-135 for three and a half years, and the J-STARS for nine and a half years. I have a son who just left Omaha and a nephew who is a flight engineer in Ok city. Jet noise! The sound of Freedom!

Ryan, did you find me? Drop me a line. Rod said you got a hold of him, come on out and see what you think, like I said, call me and I might be able to get you into the back of a boat. We also have a local club (Federation), that is looking for non-boaters.
