Rod Balancers

I have tried XPS rod balancers on my Extreme rods, but the weight seems to put to much pressure on the end of the rod and breaks them. I have also used rubber chair stoppers with coins inside taped to my rod which caused it to be very bulky. Are their any other rod balancers that I have not tried? Where could I buy them at?

Will,

I not a fan of adding any additional weight to a rod and reel. I have wasted a lot of money purchasing the wrong rod and reel combinations over the years because I didn't spend enough time matching up the right reel with the right rod. All of my combos are balanced without the aid of additional weights. I know this is not the answer that you are looking for, but I thought it might help you with future choices.

I hope you find this helpful in some way...

I have to agree with Brendan, make the right choice first. I always recommend taking the rod or the reel I'm trying to match to the store and putting the reel and rod together to see how it feels. Most stores will do that. Howerver; if you order from catalogs it's just luck of the draw. Do you have other combos you could switch around and find good matches? Good luck, Johnnie
