Here in New England, the fishing was GREAT during the spring. Whatever you threw in (spinerbaits, shiners, soft lizards and worms) was putting fish in the canoe (catch and release of course). It came to a came to a complete stop in late May and hasn't gotten any better since. Pretty discouraged.

I fish mostly ponds that are shallow and full of weeds and lily pads. Tried everything; getting that rod tip moving more, different colors, presenations, sizes - non of it's working.

Whaddya think (remember it's weedy, especially now). Just wait till mid summer?

Thanks!!

Dash, you might try flippin' and pitchin heavy jigs and pigs into weed openings, fish only the open pockets or move deep enough where weeds aren't so bad and fish a shallow diver- 1 foot minus quickly through the edges of the vegetation. Move quickly even with the jig, if nothing takes the bait on the fall, lift it once and drop, if nothing, move to the next opening. You'll start catching fish I think. Johnnie.
