Brett, most people use this with a carolina rig, the bead goes between the weight and the swivel. The idea is the brass weight and glass bead make noise, the brass makes a different sound than the lead weight normally used. A plus with the brass over the lead is the brass doesn't add any more heavy metals to the eco system, resulting in better overall health. you can also use the same setup for a texas rig as well, just eliminate the leader and put the bead between the weight and the hook. Hope this helps!

Brett, a texas rig is where you put a bullet type weight on the main line and then tie on the hook, a carolina rig is where you put a larger weight (usually an egg sinker of up to an ounce or more) on the main line, next comes the bead then a barrel swivel followed by a leader of anywhere from a few inches to a few feet (depending on how high above the structure you are fishing), then the hook. That pretty much explains it, but if you have any more questions, please ask.

No problem... I know sometimes you need the visual representation to go along with the description...
