Coldest Water Temp
Just wondering?? What's the coldest-open water- water temperature you have taken bass from. I have tajken bass in what I consider to be frigid water, it even appeared thick due to the coldness. I will post my answer a little later. Johnnie

I don't think this really answers your q., but last year our lakes iced. I went to a small 6 acre lake which must be spring fed, because it never freezes. In the winter when we get one of those rare 50 degree days with a south wind--lunker time. I really don't know how to fish for bass during the hard days of winter. I'm interested in how it's done. I've read vibrating blades are the way to go. Otherwise when I do go out I go for Muskie; we have a world class Muskie lake in this area. Carl

Johnnie,
You know I've caught them through the ice. However, in open water, I think the coldest was some 4 to 5 pounders on a jig and pig at Lake George, in 39 to 42 degree water.

Thanks guys, I have taken good fish out of 34 degree water, after that it's over around here. I catch them on crankbaits believe it or not, and the fish seem to be fairly active. Also some on a jig and eel, an old cold water standby. Thanks again. Johnnie

Coldest Water Temp
Lake Tenkiller (ok), 1993
Air temp, 45, no wind, sunny, water temp 38 Degrees, blue jig n black chunk, 18Ft water. Four fish, three hours, from 2 or so to a nice 6-12.
Couldn't get my motor to start, ran out to a small ledge on a steep bank I knew about just a few hundred feet off the ramp.
My wife thought I was insane, she watched me from the truck while reading a book.
So shoot me, I'm hard-core.
