Can anyone anyone give me some advice on Bass Fishing from the banks? I don't have a boat but love to fish. I am new to Bass fishing and trying to learn some strategy for fishing from the banks.

Hey Rookie,
There's nothing wrong with fishing for bass from the bank, it only limits your mobility. As you probably know, a stealth technique is needed., Be aware of where your shadow is casting onto the water. Make as little noise as possible when walking.
A good technique I use is to walk in a straight line to the shoreline, then stop and fan cast the area, left to nine o'clock, then another cast to 10-11-12-1-2-3 etc. Try spinnerbaits close to shore and topwaters or shallow crankbaits farther out at the 10 to 4 positions. Also try a worm or lizard at all casting positions. If fishing a rock shoreline, try a jig and pig in crawfish color and craw colored crankbaits.
Now walk straight back the way you came to the shore, a safe distance so you don't spook the fish. Move about 30 yards and start all over. This has worked well for me. Keep a low profile, be silent, wear blue, green or camo shirts to blend with the background. Keep the sun in your face if possible-shadows. Use heavier than normal line as you will snag on ocassion and you can't do anything about it.
Try to visualize in your mind what the bottom looks like and use baits accordingly. Good luck, you will catch some fish. Johnnie Crain
