Hi Johnnie, good to hear from you on the boards. Just got back from the LA. delta. Did some inshore fishing, unfortunately didn't do to well, even the guides were having trouble, said there was too much fresh water flowing into the marshes, but we had fun anyways. Did catch a few. When I asked my buddy if you lipped any of these fish he just grinned; I got the message. Went and bought some bass baits, but zeroed with them. Since he had lived down there he showed me some fresh water lakes loaded with cypress, I was drooling. Big change from Southern IL. I hope I can load up and head there this summer. The Cajun people were great. We stayed in a small fishing village, and bought oysters and crabs from boats coming in to off load. I didn't get to bass fish, but two days in the Fench Quarter made up for that. Even an old fart like me can have a blast. Haven't been able to get out, but I hear the bass are fanning nests. This cold spell has put them off, so I should get some action. Buddy you were missed there for awhile, glad to hear from you. Good luck to all, Carl.

Carl, glad you had agtreat time, fishing is fishing, no matter what the species, it's just so gooood to get out. Take care my friend, Johnnie.
P.S. Have you ever fished Lake Springfield, going there in June as a celebrity guest, to a tournament. Never been there, but the lake map looks good.

Where is Lake Springfield? When are you going to be there? Got a new truck, kind of, so I'll be traveling this summer. Carl. Anybody else coming?

Carl, Lake Springfield is in Springfield, Illinois. Way down in the southern tip. I'll be making the trip on June 4th-5. One day tournament. It's a charity tournament where anglers bid to fish with a pro (?), the pros fish free and are eligible for the money prizes. Sounded good to me. They're also covering my 2 night motel stay. Don't quite understand why they want me??
