omg i have so much trouble with these baits nothing ever seems to bite it. Ive never caught a fish on a buzzbait but id like tooooooo really bad!!! If there is some bass god out there who could help me i wud be forever in your debt lol. I would be very thankful

Buzzbaits can be a little frustating at first. There are certain time and weather conditions that dictate whether a buzzbait is a good bait selection. Early mornings, late evenings and cloudy days are best. Days with some ripple on the water are good too. The water should be at or above 60 degrees to be really effective, or course, there are always exceptions. Try fishing the bait as slow as possible but still stay on top, then try ripping the bait across the surface. Even a stop and go technique may work. Color isn't too important in a buzzer, it's mostly just the flash and splash that attracts the fish. Try a single blade, double blade or tri-wing blade, they are all effective, I especially like the triple wing buzzer, easier to keep on top at a slow speed. Fish the buzzer right through heavy cover, bounce it off objects, this will help. Keep at it-you'll get it and when you do you're in for a lefetime of fun and fish. Johnnie

There is nothing I like better than a good Buzzbait. Around my part of the country Black 1/4 oz Buzzbaits will do the trick on every lake I have fished. As far as Big Bass goes "IF YOU THROW IT THEY WILL COME". Depending on the type of lake you fish and what cover there is, Buzzbaits are typically a shallow water presentation. Like the guys have stated, there will always be exceptions. If you have any type of shallow areas with lilypads, grass, logs, and laydowns, chances are the Buzzbait will work. Probably the most critical aspect of Buzzbait fishing is SPEED. I have found that slow and steady without interuptions have produced the best. However, the methods mentioned above all have their place in fishing. If you have an abundance of smaller fish and alot of pressure on your lake you may need to go down to the Mini-Buzz. You can throw it with a spinning reel all day long. My particular favorite is the 1/4 oz Black. It is also easier for me to control my speed with a high gear ratio baitcaster reel. (6.2-1) Also, by holding the rod high will give you better control. When the explosion occurs, set the hook with a side sweep when you feel some weight of the fish. Good Luck!!!
