Need tips for getting started! Please Help.

First things first. My equipment. I have a ultra light pole with no line and I dont know what kind of line to use. So what line do you recommend for my pole.

Second thing. I have NO Tackle. Now the bad thing is the only place I can get tackle is Wal-Mart. So could you give me a list of basic bass tackle that will cost me no more than 30 dollars. Im on a very strict budget.

Thank you for all your help, and thank you for takeing the time to read this and hopefully reply to it.

Sebastion, I don't believe the ultra light pole can cut it for bass fishing, but until you can afford a more suitable outfit, thry this. Use 10# LINE. For starters, you will need a 1/4 ounce spinnerbait, white skirt/silver blade. A medium diving crankbait-4-6 feet, A topwater buzzbait 1/4 ounce. A minnow bait-Rapala or Rogue-silver/chrome. A 1/4 ounce bass jig-black. A couple of plastic jig trailers-black-black-blue-crawfish or eel or pork frog.A couple of Road runner jigs, white. Hope this gets you started. Keep in touch. Johnnie

Thanks Johnnie. I think my real is slightly bigger than an ultra ligt but not much. I'll go out and get as many of those lures as i can. and hopefully get a new rod soon.

Thanks for all your help,

Sebastian

Sebastian, you didn't mention how old you are, but a good piece of advice if you are on a tight budget is to make sure if you are required to have a license you get one before you go. In addition to what Jonnie said, a good assortment of plastic worms and 1/8 to 1/4 ounce bullet weights and hooks is a good idea too, texas rigged worms can be very effective and you don't have to break the bank to get them. Good luck and keep in touch.
