Gman, I love muddy water. We fish a lot of it here on the Mississippi river. There are ways to catch fish in muddy water, just think (excess). I always use lkarger than average baits, large 1/2 to 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits with gold or orange or black blades, coupled with a dark color skirt and often even add a pork chunk for good measure. Fish the bait fairly fast and near the surface. A lot of times, fish in muddy water will be right against the shoreline where the water is slightly cleaner.
Sometimes I take a 1/2 ounce black jig with a number one black jumbo pork frog and swim it near the surface, this bait displaces a lot of water which attracts the fish.
If possible locate some grass or weeds, they filter the water and clean it considerably. Even shallow grass or weeds are good, the fish may not be directly in the grass, but close by enjoying the clearer water.
No matter what bait you select try to use a noisy one, if using the jig, add a rattle to the jig and pork chunk. Add Fish Formula, this helps the fish find the bait, I add fish attractants any time in muddy water. Good luck, keep us posted on how you do. Johnnie
