You might remember my asking for advice on open water tech's. You suggested suspending rogues. I ordered two, and Bass Pro sent me the wrong baits. They are suspending rogues, but only dive from 0 to 5', with rattles. Had a friend drill holes and fill the cavity with silicone, no more rattles. I was thinking of adding a heavy split shot to the line to get them deeper, however I read some where that any weight on the line would negatively effect the action of the bait. I've not had much success in the past with suspend dots. Would apreciate your opinion. Carl

Carl,I do not think an added split shot would impede the bait's action if added about two feet above the bait, more like a Carolina rig. I much prefer the suspenders that run 8-10 feet deep- the extra long diving bill gives more action. I have had great success using suPend dots and strips. It really makes balancing the bait easier and adds catability. I think what you have will work okay tho. Keep on castin' Johnnie
