I have no idea what lure to use when I fish? There is a lake that runs off into a small pond. And where I cast from there is a patch of weeds on one side and another. I can cast a lure in between them but I never catch any bass. Can you please give me hints or tips on how or what to fish?

You're asking alot, my friend. I assume you're shore fishing, and what time of day are you fishing? I had the opportunity to fish a small 6 acre lake which was a gold mine, but it could be just as finiky as a large lake. During these hot summer days I could be out there all afternoon, melting, and not get a bite, but around 4 pm the bite would start. I would start off using a curly tailed worm, weighted with a bullet, or a tube,or senko. Swim them along the outside of those weed beds. I'll bet if you go out there at sundown, and into the evening you'll get some bites. There are a number of other baits you could use, another choice are topwaters, scum frogs pulled across the weed tops. Ihope this helps. Carl

Jenix, I will assume that the water you are fishing is deep enough to hold fish? Anytime fish are in the weeds, they are usually IN THE WEEDS! Dead tight to the weeds. Don't simply fish the outside edges, get right into the thickest weeds you can find with a tube, plastic worm, anything that will penetrate the cover, the bait needs to be heavy enough to reach the bottom where the weed root sytems are. It's a tough way to fish, but productive. Otherwise, slop baits over the top may work well. Good luck, Johnnie
