Hello, and welcome to bass fishing.I use a spinnerbait alot,as it is a multi use lure. You can cover alot of water and depths,in a short period of time. The crankbait,is also a good choice.May I add one more. The jerk bait could produce some nice bass.I could go on and on,but I'll let others put thier two cents in.Good luck in bass fishing world. You are in for some great experiences. bassman 20042

Bluegill, Bassman is right, a spinnerbait is hard to beat, it's so versatile. I also suggest soft plastic baits, worms, craws and creature baits. These take a little more experience, but you'll catch on. Topwater buzzbaits are simple to use and at times, very good. Poppers are another good choice.
A word of advice if you don't mind.
Don't go out and spend a lot of money on products, just purchase a few at a time and learn to use them in different areas and under different conditions. Some newcomers to bass fishing go overboard on spending only to find they soon lose the desire to fish so much. Good luck and welcome. Johnnie

I also agree with them on the spinnerbait and also the buzz bait. The buzz bait can produce some big fish if they are on it. Soft plastics is a great choice because you can change to a diffrent color or type real quick and easy.

Try live worms. I usually catch bass and crappie on them.

Thanks for the advise.I went to Walmart and got a few baits.I bought a spinnerbait, buzzbait, and a pack of senkos. The store clerk helped me pick the colors.I tried them out this morning,as we had teacher in school day,and didn't have school.I caught several bass on the spinnerbait, and the buzzbait.Didn't have time to use the senkos.Had a great time fishing, and can't wait till the weekend,so I can stay out longer. Thanks guys, you're the greatest. My young friend may I also welcome you to bass fishing. You're already doing better than me when it comes to spinnerbaits. I've never had much luck with them, but you did, congratulations, Carl. PS, Senkos are an excellent bait.

bluegill, congrats on the spinnerbait and buzzbait. As for the senko, try using it weightless. The slow fall will attract cruising bass, and sometimes the bass can't stand to hit something, that looks like it's dying.Have fun, when you go out again. One last piece of advise.Always try to learn something, when you go out.Try to remember how the fish hit,or around what piece of cover, the fish came from.Write any info down on paper, that way you can use it for future references.Oh by the way, nice to have you aboard,Chad.I thought I recognized the name.In case you don't know, this is your dad.Have fun. Hey all, just wanted you to know, that I took the advise of all,and tried the senko around a boat dock.I caught 2 bass around 2 lbs.For some reason, the boat dock looked pretty good to me.Low and behold, the bass were there.I also wrote down on a note pad,the water clarity, where the bass came from, time of day,and what lure I used. Thanks guys for the advise. Now since my dad knows it's me,I'll ask him for advise, but will still ask the advise of you all also. You all helped out alot.Oh,by the way dad,one day i'll beat ya in fishing.I'm a quick learner.Ha,ha,ha,ha.Thanks again all. bluegill
