Saturday the Legend Boat Tourney series kicked off on Lake Eufaula (Okla).

A new State Record Smallmouth Bass was weighed in, 8 Lbs 3 Oz.

The kicker, it didn't win large Bass for the event.

That was taken by a 9+ largemouth.

(And here I am boatless, and working 60+ hours a week!)

Richard.

Wow, a new record and not even big fish? That's a "good news/bad news" story. Stiill, I bet the guy was happy!!

Come on down Carl, there's plenty of room. And, apparently plenty of fish, took 21+ to take a check home.

I wonder which of the Fisery Biologists won the pool, they'd had a running pool on when the state record Smallmouth would be caught here. One of them confided he'd seen a 9+ smallie shocked up last year during the VES (very early survey)on Eufaula.

Of course he wouldn't tell me where. I rode him about it all summer until another one told me the same thing. (Actually they can't tell me, it's a regulation for them, non disclosure that is. Also, they're not allowed to fish Tourney's on water they survey for a set time after doing a lake survey. I happen to agree with the policy.)

Richard.
