I am thinking about a upgrade in boats in the next year or so. Do you know of a site where you can get boat values for both as a seller and buter? Thanks guys.

Best bet, talk to your banker, or someone in finance.

While you can do it yourself, the NADA Marine Book costs you about 50 bucks, or online service is fee-for-use.

For shopping, never rely on the seller for NADA values, always check out the prices yourself.

Conversely, set the price of your own used rig by having a dealer or shop inspect the boat, give your rig a clean bill of health (if possible) and tell you Trade. Loan and Retail value. Set the sale price somewhere between loan and retail, depending on how badly you want to sell it.

Now, if you're trading it in, don't do it at the place you're going to trade it, do it elsewhere first. Then you'll have a number in mind when you start negotiating.

One point I want to make, don't expect a dealer to give you more than trade for a rig. To start with, they do have to make a buck or two. Secondly, if they willingly offer far more than trade, something smells like the inside of a livewell. Especially if they're handling the financing. View such transactions with a great deal of skepticism.
