When fishing a lake or pond, especially if it's unfamilliar, is it a good practice to try to match your lure color with the water color?

Matching the water color won't help much, but matching the color of the dominant bait fish should. If it's shad try shad patterns, bluegills use greens and blues with splashes of red, crawfish, browns and oranges, even black. My rule of thumb for watyer matching is clear-bright, shiny baits, stained, duller colors, dingy, blacks, browns or chartreuse. Good luck. Sorry, can't help you with the clear spinnerbait blade question, I've seen them but not for a few years. Johnnie
